Would you trust IEC 61850 GOOSE for circuit-breaker tripping without a hardwired backup?

Modern digital substations increasingly use IEC 61850 GOOSE messages for protection trips, interlocking and breaker-failure schemes. Would you use GOOSE as the only tripping path, or would you still require a hardwired backup? What design and testing conditions must be fulfilled before removing the conventional trip wiring?
